I haven't blogged in forever! But I'm finally back. I decided to make this blog post about... BIRTHDAYS!! I have included some last minute, quick and easy gift ideas, as well as some that take a little bit of time. Read on to find out what they are!

What birthday present wouldn't be complete without a card?? This card was so easy to make! All you need is small cardstock, (I got a pack from Michaels) decorated paper, (I also got this from Michael's for super duper cheap) and I went on my computer and typed "Happy Birthday!" in really cute font then printed it out. So what I did was I took a piece of cardstock and folded it in half. That is the card. Then I took the balloon paper and placed the card on it and started tracing on THE BACK OF THE PAPER. You don't want there to be pencil lines visible on the paper. Then, I taped the "Happy Birthday!" to the card using rolled up pieces of tape.

A small gift you could get someone is go to the store and get them something orange flavored. It could be gum, chocolate, even gummy orange candies. Whatever it is, it needs to be orange flavored. On the card, write "Orange you glad it's your birthday??" It's a super cute and easy and quick gift, and the person receiving the gift will love it!!

This is a gift that will take a while to make, but will mean so much to the person receiving it. It could be for your best friend, wife/husband, brothers/sisters or anyone that you are very close with. All you need is envelopes and lined paper. On the envelopes, write "Open when..." and pick something. For example, what I did was Open When...:

You Get These Letters

You're Happy

You Need A Laugh

You're Mad At me

You're Having A Bad Day

You Need A Pep Talk

You Feel Lonely

You Can't Sleep

Write a paragraph or include pictures of you depending on what you choose. This is an adorable project and all it really takes is about an hour, maybe even less.

As soon as they started growing, I went out and picked some fresh lavender leaves for my homemade lavender lemonade! The recipe is really simple and is really delicious. I made it for my family and everyone was passing around the pitcher. If you want in sweeter, add more sugar. Below are the ingredients.

INGREDIENTS:
Lavender Leaves
Lemons
Sugar

Start out by juicing the lemons. As soon as your done, add the lavender leaves. Stir it, then add the sugar. The more you add, the more sweeter it will be. Stir that all together and you are finished. A last minute drink for a perfect pool party or barbeque. Hope you all try it out!
So summer is coming soon! To beat the heat I tried making frozen hot chocolate and it was really good. It was also sooo simple! The only things you need are:

Ingredients:
Ice cubes
Milk
Hot Chocolate Mix
Sugar (Optional)

Electronics:
Blender

All you do is pour in milk, (again, I eyeballed it, there's really no need for you to measure everything) add ice cubes, and add hot chocolate mix. I also add a tiny bit of sugar to it just to make it sweeter, but that is totally optional. Only add sugar if you like sweet things. I blended them all together and I was done! And the best thing was that there were little chunks of ice so it was like a Frappuccino. Yum. If you try this recipe, use the hashtag "Paradisecoconutblog" for a chance to be noticed by me! :) Happy drinking! Hello everyone! Spring is coming, and many people are growing gardens, so I decided to make garden markers. I found some rocks outside, and washed them with warm water and soap. Then I painted them with pictures of the fruits I planted, then I let it dry. Then I went back and painted the rock with waterproof Mod Podge found here. It was a lot of fun and so useful! These are also very cute gifts to give, and also cute just for decoration. But what are some ways you can achieve these two things? Read on to learn! (Note: Please remember everyone's skin is different; different tips work for different people)

Clear Skin

Wash your face every night. I use a vanilla sugar scrub I made myself. The ingredients are: Sugar, any type of oil, (I used vegetable and it actually works great!) and vanilla extract for that delicious smell. I kind of eyeballed it, and I didn't measure anything. Just remember not to pour too much oil. You don't want the scrub to be watery! Anyway, wash your face with warm water every morning and night. This helps prevent your pores from clogging.

Apply sunscreen. I know, looking tan is cool now, but in the future it could really damage your skin. It can lead to skin cancer and wrinkles. Also, it can lead to flaky skin which can clog pores. (I know, gross!)

Moisturize every night. Not only will this soften your skin, but it is believed "Vaseline" can prevent wrinkles! A win-win! Also, remember to wash off all makeup before going to bed.

Drink lots of water. I remember people would always tell me this and I would get mad because I thought it would never work. But it really does! And it doesn't even have to be that much. Just a cup a day really helps.

Shiny Hair

Wash your hair every other day or once every three days. I know that sounds gross, but washing your hair everyday strips it from it's natural shine. Wash your body but not your hair. (If you have oily hair try using an oil-free shampoo)

Do hair masks. Some people also use coconut oil. Coconut oil helps with hair growth and softness. It also has not added chemicals so it is totally safe for your hair!

Watch out when going out in the sun. The sun can dry out your hair leaving it dull. Try wearing a cute hat on super hot days!

Try to avoid things that are artificial. Don't put every product in your hair. Try some organic hair products. They may be expensive but they are worth it.

Warm Vanilla Sugar Body Scrub:

16 oz Epsom Salt (no fragrance)

3/4 cup carrier oil (safflower oil/kitchen oil works well and is inexpensive)

3 t. vanilla extract

Salt and Honey Scrub with Grapefruit and Rosemary

2 cups olive oil
2/3 cup honey
1/2 teaspoon grapefruit essential oil
1/4 teaspoon rosemary essential oil
3 cups salt
sugar (optional)
red food coloring (2 drops)

Mix the first 4 ingredients together in a bowl. Gradually mix in the salt 1/2 cup at a time. It's easiest to mix with your hands. Wear gloves if you have sensitive skin.

Continue to mix until the oil is mostly absorbed into the grains. It will be very thick and mass together with a bit of oil seeping out. If it's not coming together after several minutes, add salt or sugar in half cup increments until it's a gritty oily paste (you will need more salt/sugar if using kosher salt and less if using a finer grain salt).

Add 2 drops red food coloring and mix well. Add additional essential oil at a rate of 1/4 teaspoon at a time for a stronger fragrance.

Scoop the scrub into little jars with holes large enough to dig the product out by hand. Wipe off the top of the jar before lidding as the salt can rust the metal lid.

To use, scoop a tablespoon of the scrub into damp hands and massage between your hands until you feel a gritty paste. Scrub your face and body in a circular motion until most of the salt crystals dissolve, then rinse.
